The audio from the circulating VHS is less than stellar,
and it is said to be the source of the circulating audio
disks as well. Our goal was to enhance the sound for the
DVD release. With our limited skills, the improvement was
modest. Unlike the VLS Montreux 97 DVD with remastered
sound, this is *not* a show to enjoy with headphones.
Dropouts, tape hiss other problems are still present. Until
someone does a full on effort to repair this audio source,
or a better quality tape surfaces, this set is best slowly
circulated among true fans. In any case, your ears will
have to determine any 'improvement' from the the samples
below....
